Belarus chopper in Greece to fight forest fires

A Mi-26 cargo helicopter, attached to the Belarus's Emergencies Ministry, on Monday lifted off from an airfield in Minsk to Greece, where it will join efforts to fight forest fires, reports Interfax. The Belarusian team comprises 18 people, including 2 flight crews and ground mechanics. The helicopter is equipped with an external water container which can carry up to 15 tons of water and pour it on blaze areas.

The money earned from this contract will be used to restore Emergencies Ministry's fleet, including the overhaul of another Mi-26 helicopter.
