Belarus to continue pumping out Russian money: Russian newspaper

Belarus is developing new ways in order to pump out money from Russia, writes in the today's issue the Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta. According to the newspaper, despite low prices for the Russian gas, Minsk is searching the possibilities in order to force Russia and Russian companies to incease payments to the Belarusian economy.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta notes that Beltransgaz, where Russia's gas giant Gazprom has shares, must pay 19 percent from the production cost to the innovation fund. This translates to around $70 million.

These "new demands", regarding the Russian investors, concern the Russian side. The Russian government is currently studying the arguments of the Belarusian government.

Russian experts note that simultaneously Minsk is creating hurdles for the Russian goods to get access to the Belarusian market. “New restrictions appear before the abolishment of the old ones," writes the Russian newspaper.

According to Andrei Belousov, the head of the tariff regulation commission at the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia 'union state', there are 20 restrictions as of today.
