Belarus doctors concerned over energy drinks abuse by youth
The Belarusian narcologists are concerned over the increase in the number of young people in this country that regularily consume energy drinks in large quantities, Uladzimir Maksimchuk, the Belarus's chief narcologist told a media conference on June 22 in Minsk. The narcologists are also worried by the wits of drug addicts who produce drugs from medicines.
"We keep updating the list of narcotic and psychotropic substances every two years. But you can't put a pain-killer or medicines for allergy, which are used by drug addicts to syntesize narcotics," Dr Maksikchuk noted. 100 people die from druz overdoze in Belarus annually.
The chief narcologist also pointed the age group of drug addicts, saying more and more teenagers get registered as drug abusers.
Narcologists name 6500 people registered as drug addicts, including 1500 women and over 3000 people that use drugs irregularily, reports Interfax.
