Belarus is going to sell MAZ to Russian oligarch Deripasko

The Belarusian authorities are ready to accept the offer of Oleg Deripasko’s company “Russian machines” about merging of the association “Minsk automobile plant” (MAZ) with the “Ural” plant. However, they are not going to give the Russian businessman control over MAZ. Both sides will deposit their assets in a joint enterprise created on the basis of parity, informs a Russian newspaper “Kommersant”.

Belarus and “Russian machines” will offer part of the shares to an international investment bank that will provide financing for the development of the plants.

Official representatives of “Russian machines” and the Belarusian authorities have refused to comment on it. According to “Kommersant”, Alyaksandr Lukashenka may meet Oleg Deripasko to discuss the future of MAZ this Saturday. The previous meeting took place two weeks ago.
