Belarus has not received second part of Russian credit
Despite the reached agreements, the second part of the Russian credit did not reach Belarus at the end of February. The National Bank of our country has informed about it. The Belarusian Ministry of Finance has not commented on the problem of the second part of the credit yet. Let us remind you that the first part (1 billion dollars) was received in November 2008.
One more billion dollars was supposed to be allocated by the end of February after the programme of mutual activities in economic cooperation was elaborated. Furthermore, the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin promised to accelerate the process of allocation of the second part of the credit at the end of January.
As of February 27, the Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski claimed that the Russian Ministry of Finance had offered to divide the second part of the credit into two (500 millions each) and allocate them in February and March. It is not clear why the offer was not realised.
