Belarus not to increase cost of Belarusian visas to 60 euro because it expects tourists
Belarus is not planning to increase the cost of Belarusian visas to 60 euro in connection with the fact that a number of EU member states will join the Schengen Agreement on January 1, 2008. The head of the passport and visa department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affaires Ihar Sakreta has informed about it.
“The country is interested in tourism development”, - he said. At the same time, taking into account the national interests, Belarus is considering opportunities in the issue of the price of the Belarusian visa in response.
Let us remind you that nine countries will join the Schengen Agreement: Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Estonia, Malta and Slovenia.
Belarusian citizens will have to pay 60 euro per visa regardless of the purpose of their trips to these countries. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that negotiations about ways of lowering the price for these visas have not brought any results yet.
