Belarus not to reduce state-sponsored university opportunities in 2008

Belarus will not reduce the number of vacancies at the country's universities in 2008, Belarus's deputy education minister Aliaksandr Zhuk said in a statement.  At the same time, he did not rule out that the number of state-sponsored admission opportunities would be adjusted "depending on the needs of the national economy", reports Belapan.

According to Zhuk, the ministry is currently in the process of identifying the "target admission figures". This information will soon be revealed to the universities and potential students.
