Belarus to open consular office in Poland's Augustow
The Polish Foreign Ministry has approved a proposal from the Belarus's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to open a Belarusian consular office in he Polish city of Augustow, Belta news agency reports citing Belarus Ambassador in Poland Pavel Latushka. This office will issue visas to the citizens of Poland and other countries that would wish to visit the Augustow Channel.
The Belarus top diplomatic emvoy said the number of Poles that wanted to visit Belarus had increased. "Last year, we issued 10,000 visas more than in 2005. In 2007, the number of issued visas has grown at 25 percent in the first quarter of this year," Mr Latushka noted.
