Belarus owes almost $140 millions for Russian gas

Belarus is accumulating its debt for Russian gas supplies by “Gazprom”. The thing is our country pays a price which is smaller than the one indicated in the contract. RIA “Novosti” informs that “Beltransgaz” pays $150 for one thousand cubic metres of gas. However, Belarus had to pay 169.22 dollars in the first quarter of 2010 because it paid 121.98 dollars in the fourth quarter of the last year.

According to “Gazprom”, “Beltransgaz” owes $137.49 millions to “Gazprom”  for the period of January-March. “Beltransgaz” has to pay for April gas supplies by May 23 and the debt may increase after that.
