Belarus to replace Lord Bell with London-based state ideology institute?
The London-based Institute for State Ideologies has been in talks with the government of Belarus over an image-making contract for Belarus, British political expert Natallia Leshchanka from this think tank told the Belapan news agency. The London-based institute maintains that it does not offer PR services or media publications. Instead, it offers what was lacking a lot during Lord Bell's work -- to create a model of Belarus' image and a long-term strategy of the country's promotion in the West.
Natallia Leshchanka noted that understanding was growing at the Office of the President that they should work with both the local and Western experts. There are also plans to set up a permanent mixed commission to deal with the image of Belarus at the international arena.
Leshchanka said she has Belarus roots and one of three Belarusian political scientists known in the West.
