Belarus-Russia military drills planned for September
The new training year in the Belarusian Armed Forces began on February 2, reports Belapan. The tasks for 2009 were outlined by the Commander-in-Chief and President Alexander Lukashenka during the meeting with the top brass on December 19, 2008 in Borisov. The joint Belarus-Russian operative and strategic exercise, dubbed West-2009, will become the major element of the training cycle in 2009. The drills are scheduled to take place in late September.
