Belarusian Embassy in Warsaw picketed last night

About ten people stood near the Belarusian Embassy in Warsaw holding portraits of Iryna Khalip, Aliaksandr Klaskouski and other political prisoners, with signs "Freedom!" in Belarusian and Polish, informs Radio Liberty.

"The aim of the action is to support political prisoners in Belarus. We also demand their release from the authorities. We hope for Europe's help, and count on drastic measures - economical and political sanctions with regard to the current Belarusian government", – says one of the participants of the action Siarhej Kastsiukovich.

The activists collected signatures under the petition about Belarus to the government of Hungary which is now presiding in the EU, as well as to Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski, the Poland's Seym speaker Grzegorz Schetyna and the EP President Jerzy Buzek.
