Belarusian opposition creates “informal Embassy” to Vilnius
A Bundestag deputy and a member of an opposition party The Greens Marieluise Beck will conduct a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian opposition in the framework of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on January 24-27. The deputy’s bureau has informed BelaPAN about it.
According to Aleh Myatselitsa, representative of Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, presidential candidate-2010, the corresponding negotiations are being conducted with the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Sejm.
"If Europe does not recognize the election, it will be necessary to have a political representative office Europe could communicate with to listen to the voices of Belarusian politicians”, - said Myatselitsa.
According to him, the new structure should represent the interests of the whole opposition rendering assistance to all the forces and movement “doing something real in Belarus without dividing them to different headquarters”.
If the informal Embassy is created, its main purpose will be informing the European community about the situation in Belarus, helping the structures staying in the country and rendering resource and legal assistance to those who have to leave their motherland.
