Belarusian State University: It's not a brain drain when students go abroad

It's not a brain drain yet when Belarusian students go abroad to study there. Such opinion has been declared by the head of the International Relations Administration of the Belarusian State University Uladzimir Tsikhanau at the session of the XIII Minsk Forum on November 4. The session has been dedicated to educational issues. To his opinion, the so-called "brain drain" problem in Belarus, when people with academic degrees leave the country, reminds the same problem in Germany. However, he does not consider it to be a great danger for the scientific reserve of the country. The BSU representative is also convinced that there are no political reasons for the students to go abroad. According to the University's statistics, 440 students and 615 teachers of the key educational establishment of the country went on business trips to foreign countries within 8 months of the year 2010, reports BelaPAN.
