Belarusians bought more than a ton of gold in the last four months

Belarusians are buying more and more gold. They bought more than 1050.2 kilos of gold or 32.365 bullions in the first four months of 2008. The demand for gold has increased by 4.4 times in comparison with the same period of 2007. 10-gram gold bullions are the most popular with the population. 8746 pieces were sold over during four months which is 27% of the whole amount of the sold gold. 7445 20-gram bullions were sold. Furthermore, 105 1-kilo bullions and 288 0.5 kilo bullions were sold from January until April. Banks bought 84.35 kilos of gold from the population.
