Belarusians spent 650 million dollars on drink for five months
Belarusians spent 1 trillion 856.5 billion roubles on stiff drinks and beer in January-May 2009.
It is 12% of all goods bought by us during the period.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the sale of vodka in our country has increased by almost 3% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
Belarusians drank almost 4.5 million decalitres of vodka and twice as much beer. At the same time, we have started drinking less wine.
The sale of cheap fruit wines has decreased by 9.3% and the sale of grape wines – by 6.5%.
