Biometric passports may appear in Belarus in 2.5 years

Belarus may use the experience of Germany to introduce biometric passports. The deputy head of the migration and citizenship department of the Ministry of Internal Affaires of Belarus Anatol Lanin informed about it. At the same time he noted that at least 2 or 2.5 years has to pass after a state decision about the introduction of biometric passports was taken.

He also noted that biometric passports would not be introduced in Belarus until citizens started facing difficulties going abroad due to demands of the international structures.
