Bird flu detected in Poland 280 km off Belarus border

Bird flu was detected at two farms near the Polish city of Plock, some 280 km off the Belarusian border, writes Nasha Niva. Poland's veterenary authorities have cordoned off the infected areas and tried to track down the poultry that could have been sold into the market from those two farms. Polish specialists talk about the dangeorus Н5 Н1 virus which can also be contracted by human beings.

Belarus remains one of few countries in Europe with no cases of bird flu detected so far.
