"Black list" of Belarusian officials may be expanded
This issue will be discussed by the Foreign Ministers today in Brussels.
The decision to expand the list of Belarusian officials who are forbidden to enter the territory of the EU may be taken today at the meeting of EU's Foreign Ministers in Brussels. It is expected that the European Ministers will include about two dozens of Belarusian judges and public prosecutors, who considered criminal cases against the participants of the Dec.19 events recently, into the list. Heads of educational establishments, who expelled students due to their political activity, are also to be "blacklisted", Radio Liberty informs.
Let us remind you, the Council of EU's Foreign Ministers prohibited 158 Belarusian officials headed by the President Aliaksandr Lukashenka to enter the territory of the European Union on January 31, 2011. Sanctions became a response to the repressions conducted by the authorities against the opposition after the Presidential election on December 19, 2010.
