Book-crossing shelves appear in Vitsebsk regional library
A new project started in the Vitsebsk regional library on September 15 - book-crossing shelves appeared here. The essense of book-crossing is that people leave the books they don't need anymore in public places so the others can read them, informs BelaPAN.
As it was informed by the director of the regional library Aliaksandr Siomkin, it had been the staff of the library who had first joined the international book-crossing movement. They placed nearly a hundred books from their home libraries in the hall of the main storage of books in the region, at the special book-crossing shelves. Everyone can take them free, not necessarily the reader of the library. The only rule of the movement is that one is supposed to return the book with the yellow "book-crossing" sticker on the shelf after reading.
