Brest activist applies for picket in support of repressed for Square
This is the way Vasil Vauraniuk wants to turn the public attention to the December 19 detainees, as well as to the fact of mass harassment of citizens.
A democratic activist from Brest Vasil Vauraniuk, who used to be Mikalaj Statkevich's representative and the head of his regional electoral HQ at the presidential election, has filed an application for conducting a picket in support of the December 19 detainees, to the Brest city executive committee.
Vauraniuk has informed to BelaPAN that this is the way he wants to turn the public attention to the December 19 detainees, as well as to the fact of mass harassment of citizens who participated in the electoral campaign on the side of the democratic candidates, including people who were fired from work or expelled from educational establishments.
The activist plans to conduct the picket on February 26 from 12 a.m. till 5 p.m. near the central market at Pushkin Street in Brest. According to him, 50 people plan to take part in it.
