BT accuses US Embassy of financing Belarusian opposition
The BT Channel showed a report dedicated to the American Embassy on Thursday night. The report informed that the American embassy continued financing the Belarusian opposition. According to the TV Channel, the USA is financing the Belarusian opposition with the help of the programme of small grants. An interrogation of the head of Brest affiliate of BNF Zmitser Shymanski and the editor-in-chief of an opposition newspaper was demonstrated to prove it. They admitted having received money from the Embassy.
Moreover, a conversation of the head of the small grants department of the US Embassy Alyaksandr Melnikau recorded with the help of a hidden camera was shown. According to journalists, he also admitted the fact or allocation of money to opposition members with the help of the small grants programme.
The authors of the report claim that employees of the American Embassy made opposition members give a written undertaking not to disclose the information and even threatened some of them.
