Central Election Commission registers 16 candidates in half a day
The Central Election Commission has considered the applications for registration of initiative groups of Belarusian presidential contenders at a meeting today, on September 27. On the whole, the CEC received 19 applications. The group of Victor Tsyareshchanka was registered last week.
BelaPAN informs that the CEC has refused to register a nurse from “Chonki” health centre situated in Homel Province Natallya Starykava and an unemployed Minsker Illya Dabratvor: their initiative groups were too small.
The groups of all the other candidates have been registered. On the whole, 17 candidates have received registration in the CEC.
The Central Election Commission has registered the groups of the leader of a civil campaign “Tell the Truth!” Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, the deputy head of the United Civil Party Yaraslau Ramanchuk, the senior deputy head of the Belarusian party “Greens” Yury Hlushakou and the head of the steering committee for the creation of a union “For Modernization” Ales Mihalevich.
The groups of the director of the “Trivium” printing house Dzmitry Us, the leader of the European Belarus movement Andrei Sannikau, the deputy head of the BNF party Ryhor Kastusyou, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party Syarhei Haidukevich and the co-leader of the steering committee for the creation of the party “Belarusian Christian Democracy” Vital Rymasheuaksi have also been registered.
The initiative group of the state leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka was the tenth to have been registered.
Initiative groups of the leader of the steering committee of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (People’s Hramada) Mikalai Statkevich, an unemployed Minsker Syarhei Ivanou, an employee of the United Institute for Nuclear and Energy Research “Sosny” Ivan Kulikou, a civil engineer Pyotr Barysau and a Vitsebsk entrepreneur Uladzimir Pravalski have been registered.
The group of Syarhei Ryzhou, an employee of Vitsebsk fruit and vegetable plant, was the last to have been registered.
