Chilean miners ask up to $25 thousand for interview

Chilean miners demand payment for interviews about the days spent under the ground. The sums set by the miners vary. Families of some miners only ask for about $40, while others demand approximately 25 thousand USD.

Miner Mario Sepulveda gave an interview free of charge, saying he had done so because the journalists had been kind and respectful with his family.

Some editions and TV-Channels suggest sending the miners to Italy, Japan and the US for vacation if they agree to give an interview. However, the majority of families prefer money.

The situation is also complicated by the fact that all the miners have agreed to share the money received for the interviews equally, while being in the mine. However, now some of them disagree with that, informs the newspaper "Nasha Niva".
