Cholera found in Dnieper River in Mahileu

Laboratory tests conducted in the water of the Dnieper have revealed a toxigenic culture of the cholera pathogen. It may be revealed in outdoor ponds as a result of heating of the water after a heat wave, informs “Mahileuskiya Vedamasti”.
In connection with the potential danger of an epidemic, the sanitary service of Mahileu has forbidden to swim in the Dnieper. It is also forbidden to use the river water for economic purposes in the city, especially near the beach.
