Clinton supports Latvia's policy with regard to Belarus
The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said this after the negotiations with Latvia's Foreign Minister Valdis Kristovskis.
"Free economy goes hand in hand with free and fair society, and Latvia has demonstrated its commitment to the supremacy of law. It has supported sanctions against Belarus, the authorities of which arrest their own citizens and we strongly condemn such actions", - the U.S. Secretary of State has said.
Let us underline, that Kristovskis said in January that economic sanctions against Belarus woyuld give no effect, RIA Novosti reports.
"We also support Latvia's actions on facilitating of visa regime for Belarusians. Such steps will provide the Belarusian citizens access to the open countries, free media and partnership in the sphere of business-education, which will give the Belarusian students knowledge about the free market principles", - Clinton thinks.
Let us remind you, Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to simplify visa regime for the Belarusian citizens in January.
