Communist and anti-communist forums taking place in Minsk
The international forum of communist and labor parties is taking place in Minsk from November 2 through November 2. The leaders of the Russian and Belarusian communist parties Gennady Zyuganov and Tatsyana Golubeva are expected the address the forum's delegates, reports Interfax.
Meanwhile, representatives of pre-democracy parties and movements are today holding the forum titled "Future Withiout Communism", which opened at 1100 at the headquarters of the Belarusian Popular Front. The organizers of the anti-communist forum had approached the administration of the Palace of Culture at the Minsk Auto Works, seeking a venue for their event but their request was rejected.
The forum is attended by scientists, the victims of the communist regime's repressions, politicians, public figures, religious figures and foreign guests. The list of invitees includes Alexander Milinkevich, the leader of pro-democracy forces, Stanislau Shushkevich, the former chairman of the Supreme Council of Belarus, Protestant priest Ernest Sabila and others.
