Contest starts at “Slavonic Bazaar”

A contest starts at “Slavonic Bazaar” in Vitsebsk today. Our reporter Yadviha Stasheuskaya reports:

"The first day is dedicated to the children’s music contest. Adults will compete in the semi-final. Semi-finals were not organized for some time but the organizers decided to revive them as the level of participants who performed in the Summer Amphitheatre was too different. Only representatives of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine will not have to go through the preliminary selection".

12 participants will be selected in the semi-final. A participant will have to sing a song in their mother tongue on the first day of the contest and in a Slavonic language – on the second day. Participants will compete for the grand prix (10 thousand dollars) and three prizes – from 6 to 2 thousands. Winners of the children’s contest will get from 1 to 5 thousand dollars.
