Crashed German pilot Zimmer was to get prize
German pilot Guenter Zimmer, who died in a helicopter crash on August 8 during demonstration flights at the Borovaya airstrip near Minsk, was exected in October to receive a prize for his special achievements in the helicopter sports, reports Belapan.
The prize is awarded by the International Aviaion Federation for special achievements. Zimmer was a member of the German helicopter sports national tean for 20 years. He took part in 12 national and 6 world championships. He had over 4500 flying hours.
Zimmer was survived by his wife and young son Sasha.
