Czech Helsinki Committee supports Belarusian opposition
The Belarus of the democratic opposition and human rights defenders has already become a part of the Council of Europe and the EU.
This is stated in the letter sent from Prague to Minsk with a help of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee.
The authors of the letter claim that they highly estimate "variety of views and positions of Belarusians who resist to the authoritarian political system of the dictator Lukashenka".
"The fact that liberal democrats, Christian and social democrats, opposition communists and people of other ideological orientations united to achieve a common goal shows that your Belarus - the Belarus of the democratic opposition and human rights defenders - has already become a part of the Council of Europe and the European Union and that it will obtain the place which it deserves in these European structures in future, - the authors state.
"We think that the Czech Republic, as well as the European Union and the Council of Europe, should support your efforts as from the point of view of violation and respect for human rights in Belarus, as from the point of view of Belarus' interests as a social state, and in some time a democratic legal state, - stated in the letter.
