Debates on situation in Belarus to start in EP on January 12

The first debates with regard to the situation in Belarus will start in the European Parliament on January 12, with participation of the committee on foreign affairs, the committee on human rights and the Belarusian delegation. 
The Belarusian delegation will be presented by Aliaksandr Milinkevich, the leader of the movement "For Freedom!", Andrej Aliaksandrau, the representative of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, Stanislau Shushkevich, the first leader of the independent Belarus, Aliaksandr Kazulin, the former BSU rector and political prisoner, Andrej Sannikau's representatives, and Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's daughter Eva Nyaklyaeva

The MEPs will talk to the representatives of the opposition in order to comprehend the situation in our country and to make conclusions, which measures should be taken against the Belarusian authorities. The debates with participation of the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union Catherine Ashton will start in the European Parliament in about a week and will end with adoption of the resolution on Belarus. Jacek Protasiewicz, chairman of the Delegation for relations with Belarus, has informed Euroradio about it.
