Doping scandal with Tsikhan, Dzeviatouski might end on June 11

The Sport Arbitration Court (САS) in Lausanne ruled to extend the hearing of the case of Belarus' hammer-throwers Vadzim Tsikhan and Ivan Dzeviatouski through June 11, reports BELTA news agency quoting Dzeviatouski himself. The athlete said he received a letter from the Sport Arbitration Court, informing him about the extension of the hearing. However, it does not mean that the verdict cannot be published before this date.

The Belarusian athletes are appealing the decision of the International Olympic Committee which deprived the athletes of the Beijing-2008 medals due to positive dope tests.

Three referees from Canada, Germany and Switzerland were hearing the case in the court in Lausanne. After the hearings, they had to prepare an official statement of the court and to inform the athletes, the International Olympic Committee and the International Athletics Federation about the decision. CAS does not plan any additional hearings on this matter.
