Drunk truck driver from Belarus causes chaos on German highway
A Belarusian who was driving a truck on a German highway confused the direction of the movement. The German traffic police said they came across this incident for the first time in their life. Luckily, there was no accident.
A 31-year-old Belarusian was driving his truck towards the city of Bilifeld in the Northern Rein-Westfalia state. He would give no reaction to numerous signs from the police that he had confused the direction.
The cars moving head-on had to chase away. The Belarusian was also trying to avoid collision by using the speed-up lane.
The German police officers eventually had to block traffice on the highway. The Belarusian driver stopped only after the road patrol started using the horn sounds and gestures.
The driver was drunk and showed resistance when the officers tried to arrest him. Having inspected the vehicle, the police found fresh traces of an accident. Investigation is underway, reports Radio Svaboda.
