Dzmitry Kuhlei won on polling day but has not become a deputy
A deputy contender running for Masty District Council Dzmitry Kuhlei won on the polling day but lost according to the results of the preliminary voting. Kuhlei represents the steering committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. According to the official information, 231 people voted for him and 156 – for his rival - on the polling day. It is said that only 52 people voted for Kuhlei and 183 – for his rival – during the preliminary voting.
The opposition member’s rival at the elections was the director of “Masty mobile mechanized string” Victar Shklyar. Dzmitry Kuhlei has given an interview to ERB and noted that violations of the Election Code occurred in his constituency.
Kuhlei: “Observers were not allowed to watch the process of sealing of ballot-boxes. Sometimes people came and it turned out that somebody had already voted for them. I could be present at my polling station as a person empowered to act for another candidate but I was made to leave. I had to complain to the Central Election Commission and Lidziya Yarmoshyna phoned my representative and said she had solved the problem. The election commission did not want to announce the results of the preliminary voting right after they had calculated the votes”.
Let us remind you that Dzmitry Kuhlei became a deputy of Masty District Council 4 years ago.
