Election non-recognition appeal to international community is prepared

Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu and Andrei Sannikau expect an impartial assessment of the presidential election in Belarus from international observers. They claimed it at a joint press conference in Minsk on December 18, informs BelaPAN. Nyaklyayeu stressed that the election could not be announced free and fair. The presidential candidates had no access to mass media during the last state of the presidential race and could not refute the lies broadcast on TV, claimed Nyaklyayeu.

Moreover, the politician noted that almost all election committees lacked representatives of presidential candidates.

Sannikau claimed that he expected “an impartial assessment of the election procedure from all observers: the OSCE/ODIHR, CIS and Georgia”.

According to Nyaklyayeu, they have prepared a joint appeal of presidential candidates to the international community. “The appeal says that the election is not free, it is unfair and should not be recognized in any case even with minor reservations”, - noted Nyaklyayeu. The politicians are planning to make the statement right after the voting finishes.
