EU High Representative is worried about state of Union of Poles in Belarus

The EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Catherine Ashton “is also worried” about the state of the Polish minority in Belarus. According to BelaPAN, she claimed it during a phone talk with the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski on February 10. According to Ashton, she is ready to raise this question “in a conversation with the Belarusians authorities”.

The authorities’ actions related to the Union of Poles in Belarus were the main topic of Ashton’s conversation with Sikorski. The sides discussed the possible reaction of the European Union to the events.
