EU invites Russia to join Eastern Partnership
The European Union has invited Russia to take part in the Eastern Partnership program, Jose Manuel Barroso, the president of the European Commission said today during the EU-Russia summit in Khabarovsk, AFP reported.
Russian president Dmitri Medvedev said that Russia does not wish the Eastern Partnership to turn into a partnership against Russia.
"We are alarmed by some moments" Medvedev noted. He also said he was not meaning the leadership of the European Union but "other states" which regard this program as "a membership against Russia".
