EU to spend Euro 500K for independent media in Belarus

In January 2008, the European Union will launch the implementation of a program to support the independent media in Belarus. The program budget is Euro 500,000, Jean-Eric Holzapfel, the Coordinator for Belarus at the Kiev-based European Commission's Delegation to Ukraine and Belarus told reporters on December 7 in the Ukrainian capital, reports Belapan.  He said the project would primarily target the print and web-based media.
