Every sixth Belarusian couple cannot have a baby without medical help
Every sixth couple in Belarus cannot have a baby without medical help. This was informed by the Chief of the family planning department of the Republican Scientific-Paractical Center "Mother and Child" Ala Kamliuk.
Kamliuk underlined that the center "Mother and Child" had achieved good results in implementation of the method of extracorporal fertilization. About a thousand such procedures have been conducted since 2007, 40% of which ended in pregnancy. The specialist added they would develop the method in the future.
According to Kamliuk, she knows about 11 surrogate motherhood programs. Four of them have been discussed in the center "Mother and Child", but only one ended in pregnancy, informs the newspaper "Nasha Niva".
