Film about Chagall to be shot in Vitsebsk
A Vitsebsk TV company “Skif” has started working on a feature film about Chagall’s life. According to the deputy director of the TV company Zmitser Pyatryshcha, it will be the first film of the kind shot by the studio and it will be the first feature film about Chagall. The parts of Marc Chagall and his parents will be played by artists from Yakub Kolas Theatre and one of the company’s journalists will play the part of his beloved Bella. The scenario will be based on biographic materials; however, the genre also demands some fiction.
The TV company is planning to make a three-series film. Besides Marc Chagall, other famous artists will be shown in the film – Yehuda Penand Kazimir Malevich.
The shooting will begin in July, but is it still not clear who will finance the project. By the way, the Vitsebsk TV company hopes that its product will not only be interesting but that it will also sell well.
