Fitch agency raises ratings of Belarus' BPS-Bank

Fitch Ratings has raised the international long-term issuer default raiting of Belarusian bank BPS-Bank  from B-  up to B and bank support raiting from 5 to 4, reports banki.ru. The ratings went up after Russia's Sberbank (rated BBB) aquired 93.3% from the government of Belarus. BPS-Bank was founded in 1991. It is ranked 31st among credit institutions in Belarus by the size of assets. Bank's capital is $210 million. Profit in the first year half was $13 million. The state used to own over 95.5% of shares.
