Flu suspends classes in 34 schools in Vitsebsk region

Classes have been suspended in 34 schools across the Vitsebsk region due to a high level of flu and respiratory virus infections. Doctors from the National Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health says two more schools in the Homel region and the Minsk district will be temporarily closed as well. A school can be closed for quarantine if 30 percent of students are absent due to the infection. Since the beginning of the flu epidemic on January 23, classed were suspended in 402 schools across Belarus.

Flu epidemic is announced in 9 out of 18 reference cities: Babruisk, Minsk, Barysau, Salihorsk, Navapolatsk, Baranavichy, Mahilyou, Hrodna, Pinsk, Lida, Homel, Mazyr, Rechytsa and 26 districts across Belarus, reports Belapan
