Former police officer who tried to hold back riot policemen near House of Government detained

The former police lieutenant Aliaksandr Klaskouski was detained in his own apartment at rakasouski Ave in Minsk. He tried to hold back riot policemen near the House of Government on December 19. A series of Internet-sites published photos in which the officer in uniform was trying to convince riot policemen with shields and batons, his head covered with blood:

Three people in private clothes stormed into the apartment. They confiscated his computer, photo-cameras, memory cards, broke the furniture and drove the officer away in the unknown direction, reports BelaPAN.

The lieutenant quit the police several years ago and got another job. His name is Aliaksandr Klaskouski. His father is a well-known journalist Aliaksandr Klaskouski who works for BelaPAN.

His sister Volha Klaskouskaya informed her her brother was brutally beaten during the arrest. "They beat him in the face, in the kindeys, swore, said that the authorities would settle him well in the KGB prison, that they will make his life a hell there. They accused him of spitting in the riot policeman's face. I talked to his wife Natallia, she is shocked. It is good their children were not at home then", — said Klaskouskaya.

According to her, they called the police as unknown people tried to break into the apartment. The KGB demanded the police should make a charge on false alarm. "After that they showed the KGB representatives certificates. The surname of one of them was Lahun, — informed the officer's sister. — I called the KGB to find out about my brother's destiny but they mockingly suggested I should appoint a visit and come tomorrow".

She has an intention to address to the human rights organizations. She also does not exclude she will organize protest actions near the Belarusian Embassy in Stokholm. "If we do not make this case public they will simply kill him", — said Volha Klaskouskaya.
