Georgian MP hiding in Minsk

Media reports from Georgia suggest that MP Valery Gelbakhiani might be hiding in the Belarusian capital of Minsk where he was recently seen.

Valery Gelbakhiani reportedly disappeared from Tbilisi immediately after he and Badri Parakatsishvili were charged with a conspiracy to carry out a coup d'etat, writes Belarus Partisan.

The Georgian newspaper Alia has referred to a source in the Belarus's Interior Ministry, saying Gelbakhiani owns an apartment in Minsk. The Belarusian service of the Radio Liberty reports that Gelbakhiani was allegedly seen recently in Minsk.

Gelbakhiani who ran Badri Parakatsishvili's headquarters during the recent presidential elections in Georgia arrived to Minsk from London where he had run away to from Tbilisi. The politician is reportedly planning to move to Moscow afterwards.
