Hearing of “Belarusians’ case” in Moscow
The hearing of the “Belarusians’ case” has started in Moscow today.
Syarhey Lahuna and Alyaksey Chachryn were detained by Russian police in March. The reason for the detention was the so-called “test purchase”.
The drug police contacted the Belarusians on behalf of an owner of a Moscow drugstore and asked them to bring a cough medicine. They promised to pay for it at a Moscow bus station. The Polish cough pills “Tussal” are sold in Belarus.
But dextromethorphan hydrobromide found in the pills is considered to be a psychotropic agent in Russia. Belarusians are threatened with 20 years of imprisonment now. The relatives of the detained have sent appeals to Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Uladzimir Putin asking to restore the lawfulness, reports “Novaya Gazeta”.
