Heating station blast kills 1 in Hantsavichy
Safety violations have caused a blast at the heating station in the village of Razdayalovichy in the Hantsavichy district, Belarus Emergencies Minister Enver Baryev said in a statement. One man was killed and 5 people were injured by the blast. According to Baryev, no water was fed to cool the heater. It was supplied only after the heater was very hot, thus causing the accident.
The damaged area covers 150 square meters. The heating station produces heat for 600 people and social facilities. A make-shift heater is installed in the village in order to provide warmth to the villagers, reports Interfax.
