High-ranked Georgian official fired for poor knowledge of state language

Georgian Deputy Minister of  Economics Uruzmag Karkusov has been fired. Such decision has been taken by the head of the Ministry Vera Kabalia, informs lenta.ru. The main reason for that is his not knowing the Georgian language. Among the other factors which have influenced the decision there are also his contacts with the opposition and going on some business trip without obtaining the Minister's consent. Uruzmag Karkusov has been the Deputy Minister of Economics of Georgia since 2007. Before that, he was the leader of the so-called "alternative government" of South Ossetia.
