Holocaust victims to be remembered in 16 cities across Belarus

The project designed to identify and commemorate the names of the Holocaust victims in Belarus is being inmplemented in 16 cities across the country. Nearly 100 volunteers are gathering the testimonies of victims' relatives and friends.  Over the past two years of the project, the volunteers have passed materials to the Israel-based Institute of Holocaust in Europe about 21,624 Jews who died during the Second World War on the territory of Belarus, reports Belapan.

According to Yosi Hollander who funds the project, just 150,000 out of 800,000 Holocaust victims in Belarus have been identified.
