International conference dedicated to NPP construction to take place in Vilnius today

An international conference dedicated to the construction of nuclear power plants in Belarus and Lithuania will take place in Vilnius today. Power engineering scientists, activists of ecological organizations, economists and analysts will take part in the conference “Lithuania and Belarus: risk and prospects of NPP construction”. The political and economic situation in the region, results of closing down of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in Lithuania, development trends of  the world  power engineering, an economic assessment of the construction of nuclear objects in Lithuania and Belarus and issues connected with the risk of NPP construction will be discussed at the conference.
 
Various events aimed at attracting the public’s attention to the problem of atomic energy have been conducted in Vilnius for almost two months, informs StudAlliance.
