International Teacher's Day marked today
The International Teacher's Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries of the world. It's goal is to turn attention to the role of teachers in the society, education and development.
The holiday was introduced by UNESCO in 1994 and is celebrated annually on October 5. On this very day in 1996 the conference organized by UNESCO and the Internaltional Organization of Labour approved the recommendation "On conditions of teaching" - the first international document to regulate the terms of teachers' work.
